LABOR LIES ABOUT THE OUTBACK WAY

26 May, 2010

Only one week after he claimed he had never lied in politics, Transport Minister Anthony Albanese has told a complete whopper about the Coalitions commitment to the upgrading of the Outback Way.

Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Northern and Remote Australia, Senator Ian Macdonald said that the Coalition will meet its promises on road and rail funding, and that they will continue to support important projects like the Outback Way.

“This is unlike the Labor which today confirmed it has stopped funding for the Outback Way.

“The media releases sent out by Anthony Albanese today and referred to by Senator Conroy during Senate Estimate hearings which suggest myself and other within the Coalition have turned our backs on the Outback Way is a lie.

“It is amazing to see what Mr. Albanese and Senator Conroy will sink to. They will do or say anything to win the next election.

“The continued development of the Outback Way is important not just to those living on the road but to all Australians. This is something the Labor Government doesn’t understand.

“The Coalition want to continue the good work that has already been done on this project, rather than play silly political games.
